Director of Early Childhood & Student Services Dr. Michelle Reichard-Huff, has been reappointed to Pennsylvania’s State Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC), continuing her service as a representative of Pennsylvania Intermediate Units.
Appointed by the Governor, the SICC advises and assists the Pennsylvania Departments of Health, Education, and Human Services in supporting a comprehensive, integrated system of Early Intervention programs and services for eligible infants, toddlers, and young children and their families.
The council’s vision underscores the importance of this work: an Early Intervention system that is comprehensive, coordinated, collaborative, and cohesive; strengthens rather than replaces a family’s role; and helps every child participate fully in family and community life as a child first. The vision advances inclusion, family-centered team decisions, effective use of community resources, adequate funding, and a strong statewide voice for the Early Intervention community—all focused on optimizing children’s development through every transition.
Dr. Reichard-Huff has served on the council since August 2021. Through her continued appointment, she will bring the perspective of Pennsylvania’s Intermediate Units to statewide collaboration and planning, helping strengthen coordinated, family-centered Early Intervention supports across the Commonwealth.
