Both programs at the BCIU offer high-quality, comprehensive services. By enrolling your child inBCIU Pre-K Counts or Berks County Head Start, you can give your child a great start to a bright future.
Who is eligible for Berks County Head Start?
Berks County Head Start is a free preschool designed for children who:
Are between the age of three and the age eligible for kindergarten
Live in families up to 100% of the federal level
Families experiencing homelessness, foster families, and families receiving public assistance such as TANF or SSI
About Berks County Pre-K Counts
Who is eligible for BCIU PA Pre-K Counts?
BCIU PA Pre-K Counts is free preschool designed for children who:
Are between age three and the age eligible for kindergarten
Live in families earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level
HEAD START/PRE-K COUNTS NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT: The Head Start /Pre-K Counts Program policy regarding discrimination shall be in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the 1972 Educational Amendments, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, or disability will not be permitted in the delivery of service within the program. Any person who believes he/she/they have been discriminated against may appeal through the grievance procedures as designated.
Please remember, Head Start and Pre-K Counts was designed so that you and your child can have an enjoyable and safe experience. Therefore, staff, parents, and all volunteers are expected to adhere to this Non-Discrimination Policy. Failure to do so could result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the program and/or program activities.
