Optimizing MTSS Implementation: Essential Elements and Best Practices for School Districts and Schools

About the Speaker:

Dr. George M. Batsche is a Professor and Director Emeritus and previous Professor and Coordinator of graduate programs in School Psychology at the University of South Florida.  He was the Co-Director of the Institute for School Reform at USF. Although the Institute houses diverse projects, the central focus of the Institute is research on and implementation support for the Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports framework as an  effective model to integrate all services in educational systems. The majority of his work has focused on systemic district and statewide school reform and improvement initiatives with an emphasis on improving the performance of all students, including those with disabilities and at-risk populations.

Dr. Batsche has authored more than 75 publications (journal articles, book chapters, books, technical reports) related to his work. Dr. Batsche has served on numerous state departments of education advisory boards, professional organization boards, provided technical assistance and support to international ministries of education and was the Vice-Chair of the Professional Advisory Board for the National Center on Learning Disabilities (NCLD.)  Dr. Batsche’s experience includes serving as a school psychologist, a building principal and a district administrator.  In addition, Dr. Batsche had a private practice and was a licensed clinical psychologist.  Dr. Batsche was a Past-President and the 2018 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of School Psychologists.

Act 45 and Act 48 Hours

Act 45: This workshop will be offered for 30 Continuing Professional Education for School & System Leaders Act 45 hours. Administrators participating in this program for Act 45 hours are required to attend all three sessions and complete twenty hours of job-embedded assignments and a culminating project.

Act 48: Individuals attending this series must attend all three days of the series in order to receive eighteen Act 48 Professional Education hours.
