Karen Brown, IT Customer Success Specialist in the Office of Information Technology, has been named employee of the month for November 2024.
“Karen has quickly become one of the most trusted members of our team. She can be relied on to prioritize and ensure client concerns are addressed while balancing that with understanding the workload of the team members who may need to assist,” shared Cherie Zimmerman, Assistant Director, Office of Information Technology. “Karen has also brought a wealth of marketing and event planning experience to our team, and she has used that experience to develop processes and templates for our efforts in expanding our services footprint and marketing our wares in new ways.”
Karen graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in Marketing. Originally from Lebanon, she now resides in Myerstown with her husband, Jason. Married for 27 years, they have three children: Emerson, 26; Gavin, 23; and Rylan, 20. In her spare time, Karen enjoys traveling, skiing, reading, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Karen says the best part of her job is the team that she has the pleasure of working with and describes them as extremely welcoming and supportive. She also enjoys having the opportunity to connect with clients to ensure their needs and expectations are being met.
You might not know that Karen lives in a barn and manages an event venue on weekends.
