Paving the Way Conference

The Region 2 Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) and Educational Stability for Foster Care Youth teams attended and presented two impactful sessions at the 2024 Paving the Way to Educational Success Conference, held from October 16-18, 2024, in King of Prussia. Lauren Hammond, BCIU ECYEH Specialist, and Dave Surovec, Student Resource Coordinator at Insight PA Cyber Charter School, shared strategies for supporting virtual learners, while Allyssa Kovich, BCIU Program Specialist, and Tabitha Kramer, BCIU ECYEH Supervisor, presented with Lisette Rivera, Site Coordinator for the Families In Transition at the School District of Lancaster, highlighting trauma-informed practices for unaccompanied youth. Both sessions emphasized collaboration and resilience to support vulnerable students.
