Monday, November 11, through Friday, November 15, 2024, BCIU Early Intervention (EI) School Psychologists celebrated National School Psychology Week (NSPW) by leading activities that focused on staff wellness and the power of continued connections. This year’s theme, “Spark Discovery,” highlighted how school psychologists inspire innovation, affect positive change, and broaden perspectives for children, youth, and their communities.
Throughout the week, EI staff received daily messages and participated in activities designed to strengthen our learning community, celebrate the critical work of school psychologists, and encourage discovery in each person’s role. Each day’s theme inspired new insights, resources, and appreciation for the positive impact that school psychologists have on students, families, and fellow educators.
Focus areas were: Monday: Explore Your Connections, Tuesday: Pursue New Ideas, Wednesday: Launch Into Advocacy, Thursday: Boost Your Strengths, and Friday: Expand Your Universe.
A highlight of the week was “Spark Discovery: A Mindfulness Moment,” where EI team members gathered to share a moment of calm and reflection, focusing on self-connection and mindfulness.
The BCIU extends heartfelt gratitude to its school psychologists for their dedication and expertise. Through their daily commitment to Early Intervention learners, they make a lasting difference, providing invaluable support to students and families across the community.
