January is School Director Recognition Month, and the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) proudly honors the dedication and impact of our BCIU Board of Directors.

These 18 individuals play a vital role as representatives of their home districts, championing public education and working to shape a promising future for students across Berks County and beyond. Their thoughtful decisions impact the lives of over 70,000 students locally and two million across the state, paving the way for meaningful opportunities and lasting success.

As dedicated volunteers, BCIU board members devote significant time and energy to addressing critical issues including school safety, budgeting, policy development, and more. Their efforts help ensure schools remain safe, forward-thinking, and supportive environments where all students have access to quality education to learn and thrive.

“On behalf of the BCIU, I express my sincere appreciation to the BCIU Board of Directors for their leadership, vision, and continued commitment to the students and communities we serve. Collectively, they bring more than 170 years of service on their home school district boards and close to 85 years of service on the BCIU Board. Their guidance and support enable us to achieve our mission and make a meaningful difference every day.”
