BCIU Training and Consultation (TaC)

The Berks County Intermediate Unit provides training and consultation services which are federally funded through the Individuals with disabilities Act (IDEA) and are available to all public-school entities in Berks County.

Our TaC team can provide customized trainings and consultations in district or at the Berks County Intermediate Unit. For a list of services offered through TaC, please see the list below.

ACADEMICS & MTSS

The BCIU offers a variety of supports and services dedicated to supporting districts in providing evidence-based assessment and instruction to maximize student learning and increase students’ skills in literacy and mathematics.

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY

The BCIU provides assistive technology support services to districts of Berks County through the Training and Consultative (TaC) provisions. 

BEHAVIOR SUPPORT

The BCIU can provide Training and consultation to district staff to support positive student behavior outcomes, classroom management, and strategies for de-escalating challenging behaviors. Trainings can be customized to meet your district needs.

SAFETY CARE

Safety Care provides training in de-escalation skills to effectively prevent, decrease and manage challenging behaviors, while maintaining safety and dignity for all.  

PARAPROFESSIONAL TRAINING

The BCIU offers comprehensive training for newly hired Paraprofessionals as well as Paraprofessionals who have been in the field for a while.

LOW INCIDENCE DISABILITIES

The BCIU offers district staff TaC services in supporting students with Low Incidence Disabilities. Training and consultation can be provided to support teachers and paraprofessionals working with individual students and/or to support classroom training needs.

TRANSITION ASSESSMENT & PLANNING

BCIU Transition Consultants provide targeted and sustained training and technical assistance in developing and implementing effective secondary transition plans.
