Professional Development
For Administrators

The Berks County Intermediate Unit is committed to equipping our school leaders with the tools for success. Throughout the year, the BCIU hosts events and workshops for school administrators that challenge and inspire them with new ways of thinking about their school districts. These include annual events like the Administrators’ Conference and Leadership Series, as well as PIL courses and networking groups.

Explore Opportunities

Held annually in August, the Berks County Administrators’ Conference is a professional development opportunity for superintendents and their staff.

The BCIU’s Leadership Series is three days of learning designed for teams of district-level curriculum leaders, school-based administrators, and teacher leaders.

BCIU Human Resources staff coordinates bimonthly meetings of Berks County school officials with human resources responsibilities. As part of this endeavor, they forward information of interest to these individuals as well as coordinate “requests for information” to be shared with the entire group.

The Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership Initiative (PIL) provides a statewide, standards-based leadership development and support system for school leaders at all levels through a delivery system that is cohort-based and embraces the regional collaboration of Intermediate Units and their partners.
